What makes migration to Superset hard.
LOD Expression Translation
FIXED, INCLUDE and EXCLUDE Level of Detail expressions have no direct UI equivalent in Superset. Each must be re-implemented as SQL subqueries or window functions in the underlying dataset. Automated tooling can generate candidate SQL from LOD syntax, but human review is required to validate correctness against the original data model.
Framework Manager Semantic Model
Framework Manager models, including calculated fields, joins, filters and dimensional hierarchies, cannot be lifted and dropped into Superset. The business logic must be migrated into the data warehouse itself, using Snowflake, BigQuery, dbt or equivalent, before dashboards can be built. This is a data engineering task, not a front-end migration task.

A typical Cognos or Tableau environment contains hundreds to thousands of reports. Manual migration report by report is not economically viable at that scale. Automation is not optional.
